We have finally managed to kill Ajmal Kasab, the terrorist who participated in the killing of 166 people in Bombay. It is a tremendous achievement, and demonstrates the administrative efficiency of our State machinery. The newspapers say his hanging was a secret operation, which makes it all the more commendable, given our ineptitude with secrets of all sorts. Indians like to blurt things out, like Manmohan Singh, who while meeting George Bush Jr. exclaimed - The people of India love you deeply. Singh had been teaching Economic theory to landless peasants. Some of them confided to him their undying love for Bush.
This operation, the papers go on to say, was called Operation 'X'. It is a fitting name. Before we killed him, we were unsure about his name. When he was injured and being interrogated by the police, they couldn't understand what he was saying. Some believe they wrote his caste name as his last name. It is a complex issue. Different version of his name included Azam Amir Kasav and Ajmal Amir Kamal. It took the police some time to ask his name after he got better. A degree of reserve is not uncommon among Indian policemen. One can surely forgive a man for being shy.
Meanwhile, many have condemned the death penalty. Some have presented eloquent appeals for mercy and forgiveness. But why should we show mercy? What will we gain by that? We aren't saints. We are regular people. We will kill. We will rape, stab, shoot, hang. We will butcher these people. Our parents are not here and we are free to do as we please. It's justice.
Pseudo-responsible and Pseudo-secular people say Kasab was brought up in frustrating poverty. So? Did we create that poverty? Did we take away his opportunities? We are simple, innocent people who read Chetan Bhagat and love Katrina Kaif (even though she is a Muslim). She is so beautiful and he writes so beautifully. He studied in IIT. He can kill better.
The Media understands. Thus, it does not give these activists space. Some of them compare us to the Taliban. Stupid people don't know that the Taliban are Muslims. We aren't. And our women don't wear burqas. Though sometimes we do put them on fire. But mostly we just prevent women from being born. What is technology for, after all? Our sons will bring dowry. It is a long-term investment. Surely Dr. Manmohan Singh understands.
We are a democracy. So to kill, we need to take some permissions. It is irritating. But we manage. The courts use tough language to explain something very simple. When we really want to, we will kill. Though we would have liked to hang Kasab in public, preferably without the black hood. Let the people of India see his dead face, however mangled. Let us smell the stink of his piss. A public hanging would have reduced our grief even more. But these Pseudo-Secularists and Pseudo-Dignifieds defeated our attempts. Balasaheb had asked for it. God rest his soul.
Truth is, and the confession should be made, we love carnage. Didn't Krishna justify it in the Geeta? Yes yes, Amartya Sen explains how great emphasis is given to Arjuna's doubts. But that was added later to the Geeta by Pseudo-Secularists and Pseudo-Pacifists. We must remove it now. That should be our new project, after we destroy the Charminar.
But the greatest development is that many of these Pseudo-Secularists and Pseudo-Sensitives have stopped protesting. Look at the newspapers. They silently watched us mourn for Balasaheb. And now they are silent over the killing of Kasab. They are truly Pseudo.
This is India. We are one nation.
